HP LaserJet Pro MFP m476nw Shows paper jam in tray one when there is no paper jam

In my case this issue was resolved by pulling out tray 2 and dropping the paper tray for tray one

Under there (reference image) you will see that there is a small lever mechanism

My issue was caused by the long lever mechanism popping out of its slot and the spring falling off

Make sure that both 1 and 3 are inside their slot and that 2 has the spring attached

if that fell off then that is why it wasnt working
